Kansas is a very conservative city, with regulations on abortion, same-sex marriages, and what may or may not be taught in local schools.  Parents may want to look into what types of things are being taught in these schools before entering their children in the local system.  Kansas also has strict liquor laws, with a high liquor tax and even still housing some dry counties within the state.  Anyone with plans to move to Kansas and open an establishment that serves alcohol would have to make sure they had the appropriate funding.  Depending on your views on these issues, Kansas may be the right fit or the wrong one.
Kansas offers some of the lowest home prices in America, so anyone looking for an area with very reasonable home prices may want to consider Kansas real estate.
